Our story

From a single driver to a network of partners.

When I launched VTC Bordeaux Chauffeur in 2022, the idea wasn’t to start yet another transportation company.

VTC Bordeaux is a private chauffeur agency founded in Bordeaux in 2022 by Adrien Moreno, holder of EVTC professional license #03322012101 issued by the Gironde Prefecture. The business was incorporated as VTC Bordeaux SAS in April 2024 (Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register 924 992 605, headquartered in Parempuyre (33290)). Network of selected partner drivers. Google rating: 5.0/5 based on 25 verified reviews.

I’m from Bordeaux, and over the past few years I’ve seen the city transform. Visitors from England, the U.S., and Australia are now arriving in droves, and every time I saw the same thing: the line of taxis that wouldn’t budge in Mérignac, the app that overcharges because it’s Sunday night, and no one to clearly respond to an email in English when you’re just trying to book in advance.

And for people in Bordeaux, whenever they need to go to Roissy, Paris, or down to the Pyrenees, things are often unclear: who to call, at what price, and in what kind of car.

I wanted to make things simpler. A decent car, a price quoted upfront, and someone on the other end of the line—not a platform. You message me, I reply, we work it out, I come pick you up. That’s it, really. But when done right, it makes all the difference on a trip. Adrien Moreno, founder

These days, I don’t work alone anymore. As demand has grown—especially during peak season, when requests can come in all at once from London, Bordeaux, and Paris—I’ve gradually built up a network of partner drivers. Not a list of anonymous service providers: people I know, people I’ve driven with, and people I call when I know the trip will suit them. Some are better at long distances, others at wine-tasting tours where you have to be patient between tastings without rushing the customer.

This allows me to cover just about anything that comes up: a 6 a.m. trip to Mérignac to catch a flight to London, a day spent wandering through the vineyards of Saint-Émilion or the Médoc, a family trip to Cap Ferret with bikes in the trunk, a wedding in Charente, a long-distance transfer to Paris, Biarritz, San Sebastián, or the ski resorts in the Pyrenees in winter. Whether the trip takes forty minutes or six hours, the principle remains the same: a clean car, punctuality, a price quoted in advance, and someone who can be reached if anything comes up.

In April 2024, I formalized the business as VTC Bordeaux SAS (Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register 924 992 605, capital €100, headquartered in Parempuyre (33290)). EVTC professional license #03322012101 issued by the Gironde Prefecture in 2022. Pacifica professional liability insurance (Crédit Agricole). Intra-Community VAT number FR81924992605.

To Saint-Émilion: Economy €119 · Sedan €129 · Economy Van €149 · Mercedes Van €169. To Arcachon: Economy €139 · Sedan €149 · Economy Van €169 · Mercedes Van €189. What is the difference between a private hire car and a taxi in Bordeaux?

A private hire vehicle and a taxi are two regulated services that operate differently. A taxi can be hailed on the street or picked up at a taxi stand; its fare is calculated by a meter regulated by the prefecture. A private hire car must be booked in advance—this is a legal requirement—and its fare is set freely by the operator and communicated before the ride. With VTC Bordeaux, the fare is fixed and confirmed in writing: you know exactly what you’re paying before you get in. The private hire driver holds an EVTC professional license issued by the prefecture (here: #03322012101, Gironde), guaranteeing training and medical fitness. There are no hidden surcharges for nighttime, weekends, or holidays.

Do the drivers speak English?

All our drivers (including the founder) have a sufficient grasp of English to communicate with customers from the UK, US, Ireland, Australia, and Canada—addresses, schedules, instructions, and landmarks. It’s not interpreter-level bilingualism, but it’s enough to ensure a smooth ride: “where are we going, what time, which luggage, which hotel, which terminal.” Reservations via email or WhatsApp can be made in French or English—emails will be replied to in the customer’s language. This is particularly useful for transfers from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport to hotels and châteaux in the Médoc or Saint-Émilion regions, for day-long wine tours, and for business trips with international clients. This linguistic flexibility is standard on all our trips—it’s not a premium option billed separately.

How does payment work?

Two payment methods, at the customer’s choice. Option 1—online payment: a secure link is automatically sent upon booking confirmation. Credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are accepted. Option 2—payment on board: cash or credit card paid directly to the driver on the day of the ride. The initial fare may be recalculated if the trip is modified en route—due to a significant delay on the client’s part, an additional stop at another address, an extension of the trip, or an unplanned wait. Any potential surcharge is announced at the time of the change, never afterward. For long-distance trips not departing from Bordeaux, full payment via the link is required 12 hours in advance to secure the partner driver’s time slot. For professionals and businesses, an invoice with VAT is issued automatically (intra-Community VAT number FR81924992605). VTC Bordeaux SAS is registered with the Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under SIREN number 924 992 605.

What should I do if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed, you don’t need to do anything. When you book, you provide your flight number. The driver assigned to your trip tracks your flight’s progress in real time via Flightradar24. If the landing is delayed, the driver will automatically adjust their arrival time at Mérignac Airport—no cancellations, no rebookings. A 40-minute waiting period is included in the fare, starting from the actual landing time. Beyond that, additional waiting time may be charged at the hourly rate for the booked category—rates are provided at the time of booking. In case of a significant delay, contact Adrien at +33 7 57 59 89 00. No penalties for delays beyond your control.

Do you cover the Basque Country and Spain?

Yes. VTC Bordeaux provides long-distance transfers to the French and Spanish Basque Country. Regularly served destinations include: Biarritz, Bayonne, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Hendaye, San Sebastián (Donostia), Bilbao, and Pamplona. Trips are offered in a Mercedes E-Class sedan (3 passengers) or a Mercedes van (7 passengers). The fare is calculated per kilometer based on a minimum pickup distance, confirmed in writing before departure. Bordeaux → San Sebastián: approximately 240 km. Bordeaux → Bilbao: approximately 330 km. Ideal for travelers wishing to avoid transfers, family groups, and cross-border business trips. For any long-distance trip not departing from Bordeaux: full payment is due 12 hours in advance.

How do I verify the validity of an EVTC license?

The validity of an EVTC professional license can be verified for free online through the official government service, accessible at entreprendre.service-public.gouv.fr. This “private driver License Verification” service is provided by the Ministry of Transportation. All private hire drivers holding a card are automatically registered there. Simply enter the number to obtain real-time confirmation of validity. Adrien Moreno’s EVTC card #03322012101 was issued by the Gironde Prefecture in 2022. The card is valid for 5 years from its date of issuance and is a legal requirement for working as a private hire driver in France. Obtaining the card requires passing a written exam (regulations, road safety, English language) and a practical exam (driving), as well as a mandatory medical examination. Without this license, providing paid rides as a private hire driver is illegal.
