How does it work, from quote to confirmation?

How do I book a private car service in Bordeaux?

Four booking channels are available: (1) the online booking module on the website with instant pricing, (2) by phone at +33 7 57 59 89 00, (3) by email at contact@vtc-bordeaux-chauffeur.fr, (4) WhatsApp. Please provide your pickup address, destination, date, time, number of passengers, and amount of luggage. The form calculates the price instantly. For SMS, WhatsApp, or email: written confirmation will be sent within 30 minutes with a final, fixed rate. Best-effort reservations starting 2 hours in advance; guaranteed reservations starting 24 hours in advance for the vehicle of your choice. For long-distance trips not departing from Bordeaux: full payment required 12 hours in advance.

How far in advance should I book?

There is no legal minimum notice period, but we recommend booking 24 hours in advance to guarantee availability of the vehicle of your choice (Eco, Sedan, Eco Van, or Mercedes Van). On a best-effort basis, we accept requests as early as 2 hours before departure, subject to availability within our network of partner drivers. During peak season (July–August, grape harvest in September–October, Vinexpo): booking 48–72 hours in advance is strongly recommended. For long-distance transfers (Biarritz, San Sebastián, Toulouse, Paris) and wine tours: a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required. Service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. For urgent requests: call Adrien directly at +33 7 57 59 89 00.

How do I change or cancel my reservation?

Changes or cancellations can be made by phone or email. Cancellation policy: free cancellation up to 12 hours before departure. Between 12 hours and departure: 15% of the total amount. If the driver has already left: 50%. No-show (you are not present at the agreed-upon time): 50%. Special case of force majeure: if your flight or train is canceled by the airline or rail company, full refund (€0 penalty). Changes to the date, time, or address are accepted free of charge up to 12 p.m. prior to the pickup, subject to availability within our network of partner drivers. After that time: treated as a partial cancellation depending on the notice period.

How will I receive my confirmation?

As soon as your reservation is confirmed: an automatic confirmation email summarizing all the details—pickup time and location, destination, vehicle category, fixed rate guaranteed in writing, and a secure payment link if selected. For airport transfers: we’ll ask for your flight number to activate real-time tracking. For train station transfers: your train number. On the day of your transfer, 30 minutes before the pickup time: an automatic text message stating “Your driver is on the way” + a real-time tracking link (vehicle GPS location). If you do not receive the email within 30 minutes of making your reservation: check your spam folder or call +33 7 57 59 89 00.

Can I book for someone else?

Yes, no problem. Common scenarios include: a VIP client traveling, an employee on a business trip, a guest of honor, an elderly relative, a seminar speaker, or a wedding guest. When booking, provide the name and phone number of the person to be picked up. The driver will contact them directly to confirm the meeting point and will introduce themselves upon arrival. Name Sign Option (Meet & Greet): +15 € for a welcome at the airport or train station with a sign bearing the traveler’s name (ideal for international travelers, unaccompanied children, and VIPs). The invoice can be issued in the name of the ordering company with your internal reference (purchase order, assignment code, cost center code).

Can the initial fare be recalculated during the trip?

Yes, in certain specific cases: significant delay on the customer’s end, an additional stop at another address, an extension of the trip, or an unplanned wait (beyond the 40 minutes included at the airport or 15 minutes at the train station). Any surcharge will be announced by the driver at the time of the change, never afterward. No hidden extra charges. For delays beyond your control (delayed flight, delayed train): automatic driver tracking, 40 minutes of free waiting time at the airport, 15 minutes of free waiting time at the train station, no penalties. For wine tours and full-day rentals: if an extension is requested on-site, the hourly rate for the reserved category will be applied and announced in advance.

How are your rates calculated?

The online booking module instantly calculates the exact price based on distance, duration, time of day (day/night/weekend), and the selected vehicle category. Four categories: Eco (Toyota Yaris Hybrid, starting at €30), Sedan (Mercedes E-Class, starting at €50), Eco Van (Peugeot Traveller 7-seater, starting at €70), Mercedes Van (V-Class 7-seater premium, starting at €80). Tolls, luggage, flight/train tracking, and a 40-minute airport wait are included. A fixed rate is provided in writing before the ride, with no possible changes. For an instant quote: use the online module.

What payment methods do you accept?

Two options to choose from: (1) online payment via a secure link sent automatically upon confirmation (Visa/Mastercard/Amex credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay); (2) payment on board in cash or by credit card directly to the driver on the day of the trip. For trips departing from Bordeaux: no advance payment required. For long-distance trips not departing from Bordeaux (e.g., return trip from San Sebastián to Bordeaux): full payment must be made 12 hours in advance via a secure link to secure the partner driver’s availability. For business customers: bank transfer available and deferred monthly billing subject to conditions (minimum of 20 rides per month). VAT invoices are automatically issued for all business customers (FR81 924 992 605).

Are there any surcharges for nighttime, weekends, or holidays?

Yes—a surcharge is automatically applied between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM, on weekends (Saturday–Sunday), and on holidays. It’s always disclosed at the time of booking, never afterward. Nighttime rate: ~30% surcharge compared to the daytime rate. Advantage over taxis: your nighttime rate remains fixed (quoted in advance), whereas taxis charge approximately €3/km by the meter—we’re on average 30–40% cheaper during nighttime, weekends, and holidays thanks to our transparent pricing. The online booking system automatically calculates the surcharge based on the selected time slot: no calculations are required on your part.

Are there any hidden fees or surcharges?

No. The quoted price is the final price, guaranteed in writing. Highway tolls included, standard luggage included, no charge for waiting due to flight or train delays (40 minutes free at the airport, 15 minutes at the train station), and no pickup fee within Bordeaux Métropole. Paid options (must be requested at the time of booking): infant/child/booster seat +15 €, pet +15 € (covers special cleaning), name sign +15 € (meet & greet at the airport/train station). For wait times exceeding 40 minutes at the airport or 15 minutes at the train station: charged at the hourly rate for the reserved category. Everything is transparent and listed on the quote before confirmation.

How does billing work for businesses?

VTC Bordeaux serves corporations, SMEs, professional firms, and large organizations. Corporate account with deferred monthly billing: reserved for organizations with a minimum of 20 trips per month (recurring weekly transfers, seminars, delegation support). For fewer than 20 trips: standard per-trip billing, via a secure link or payment on board. Each invoice complies with French accounting requirements: SIREN 924 992 605, intra-Community VAT number FR81 924 992 605 (10% transport rate), with details by date, departure point, destination, km, duration, amount excluding tax, and amount including tax. Purchase orders, assignment references, and cost center codes can be included upon request. Annual framework quote for recurring needs. Pacifica Professional Liability Insurance. Corporate account contact: contact@vtc-bordeaux-chauffeur.fr.

Is an advance payment required to make a reservation?

For trips departing from Bordeaux Métropole: no advance payment required. Upon booking confirmation, a secure payment link is automatically sent to you—use is optional. You can also pay in cash or by credit card directly to the driver on the day of the trip, with no restrictions. For long-distance trips not departing from Bordeaux (e.g., return trip from San Sebastián to Bordeaux, or Paris to Bordeaux): full payment is due 12 hours in advance via a secure link to secure the time slot of the partner driver who is traveling specifically for this trip. For corporate accounts (minimum 20 trips/month): deferred monthly billing.

Private driver transfer from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport — Black Mercedes E-Class in front of the terminal
Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport
Airport & Train Station

How does the transfer from Mérignac Airport and Saint-Jean Train Station work?

What are the rates for VTC Bordeaux at Mérignac Airport?

For the BOD ↔ Bordeaux city centre route (for reference only): Eco €45, Mercedes E-Class Sedan €50, Eco Van €70, Mercedes Van €80. One-way fares include tolls and luggage; 40 minutes of waiting time after landing is included free of charge. Some typical routes: Saint-Émilion from €119 to €169. Arcachon from €139 to €189. Biarritz from €379 to €509. Get the exact fare for your trip via the online booking module.

How does flight tracking work?

When you book, you provide your flight number. The driver tracks it in real time via Flightradar24. If the landing is early or delayed, the driver automatically adjusts their arrival time at Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. No canceled rides, no need for you to rebook. The same system applies to trains via SNCF Connect (Saint-Jean station). In case of significant issues (delays of more than 2 hours, changed layovers): call Adrien at +33 7 57 59 89 00. Flight tracking is included in the fare at no extra charge. Major advantage over a taxi: a taxi doesn’t track your flight and leaves at the scheduled time—meaning you’ll face delays, an empty parking lot, or a running meter.

What should I do if my flight is delayed?

Nothing to do. The driver monitors your flight via Flightradar24 and automatically adjusts the pickup time. A 40-minute wait is included in the fare starting from the actual landing time (not the originally scheduled time). Beyond that: you’ll be charged the hourly rate for the category you booked (Eco: 55 €/h, Sedan: 65 €/h, Eco Van: 70 €/h, Mercedes Van: 80 €/h). In the event of an exceptional delay (more than 2 hours), contact Adrien to adjust the trip if necessary. No penalty will be charged for delays beyond your control. In the event of a complete flight cancellation by the airline: full refund of your private car service reservation (force majeure policy).

How does pickup at Saint-Jean Station work?

When booking, provide your train number. The driver tracks it in real time via SNCF Connect and adjusts their arrival time in case of a delay. Pickup takes place at the Hall 3 Belcier exit (east side of the station, direct access from the long-distance platforms). A 15-minute waiting period is included starting from the train’s actual arrival time. For groups or bulky luggage: please specify this when booking so we can arrange the appropriate vehicle (Eco Van or 7-seat Mercedes Van). Saint-Jean Station ↔ Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport: 25–40 min depending on traffic; fixed rate quoted in advance. Option to add a personalized sign (+€15) available for a welcome with a sign.

Do you offer transfers to other airports?

Yes, we offer long-distance transfers to several French and European airports. Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS, 245 km / 2h45) in a sedan or Mercedes van. Paris-CDG or Orly (580 km / 5h30). Biarritz-Basque Country (BIQ, 190 km / 2h) — Sedan starting at 419 €. San Sebastián (EAS, Spain, 210 km / 2h30) — cross-border transfer. La Rochelle to Île de Ré (LRH, 150 km / 1h45). Bergerac (EGC, 90 km / 1h15). For any airport not listed: quote within 24 hours. Systematic flight tracking for these transfers. For return trips not departing from Bordeaux: full payment required 12 hours in advance via a secure link.

How do I get from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport to city centre?

Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport (BOD) is approximately 11 km west of city centre, a 20–35-minute drive depending on traffic. Three main options: (1) Private chauffeur service—fixed rate quoted in advance (Eco €45, Sedan €50, Eco Van €70, Mercedes Van €80), flight tracking included, 40-minute waiting period provided after landing; (2) Tram A from Mérignac with a transfer at Berges de la Garonne (~45 min, €1.80 per person, less direct with luggage); (3) Metered taxi from the official taxi stand (~€50–65 depending on traffic, price varies). For groups, passengers with luggage, or international travelers: a private chauffeur service is recommended.

Is there a direct shuttle between the airport and Saint-Jean Train Station?

Yes—direct private car transfer between Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and Saint-Jean Train Station: 25–40 min depending on traffic, approximately 16 km. Fixed rate by category: Economy ~€35, Sedan €50, Economy Van €70, Mercedes Van €80. Systematic flight tracking for arrivals, train tracking for departures. Ideal for flight + TGV connections (Paris, Lille, Marseille, etc.) or TGV + international flight connections. Pickup: Exit Hall 3 Belcier on the train station side; private-hire car parking lot 2 min from the terminal on the airport side. 40 min of free waiting time from landing / 15 min from train arrival. Book via the online form for the exact rate based on your schedule.

Can I choose my vehicle when booking?

Yes. When booking, you select the desired category based on the number of passengers, the amount of luggage, and the nature of the trip: Eco (economy, 1–3 passengers, light luggage), Mercedes E-Class Sedan (premium, 1–3 passengers, business), Eco Van (groups/families, 4–7 passengers), Mercedes Van (premium groups, 4–7 passengers, weddings, events). If you don’t have a preference, the system will suggest the most suitable vehicle. Availability is checked in real time during booking through our network of partner drivers. If the requested category is unavailable, an alternative will be offered immediately (often a free upgrade). For weddings and events: A sedan or Mercedes van is recommended for its elegance.

Do you provide child seats?

Yes—for an additional €15. In France, regulations require an appropriate car seat for any child under 10 years old or shorter than 135 cm. Private hire vehicles are not exempt from this requirement (unlike taxis), so the seat must be installed before departure. Please specify at the time of booking: infant car seat (0–13 months, Group 0+), child car seat (1–4 years, Group 1), or booster seat (4–12 years, Group 2/3). For multiple children: please specify this when booking so we can adjust the vehicle (Eco Van or Mercedes Van recommended for large families). Seats are cleaned and disinfected after each use. i-Size standard in effect.

Do you allow pets?

Yes — +€15 option (covers special cleaning of the vehicle after the trip). Please specify the pet’s species, size, and mode of transport when booking: a carrier or cage is required for cats and recommended for small dogs. For large dogs: Eco Van or Mercedes Van recommended for the comfort of both the pet and the owner. Guide dogs and service dogs: accepted without exception, at no extra charge and with no restrictions (in accordance with disability laws). For long trips: the driver will offer a rest stop for bathroom breaks and water if necessary. If the animal tends to shed a lot of hair: please specify this when booking so we can provide a protective cover (free of charge). A €15 surcharge applies to all trips with animals other than service dogs.

Is there Wi-Fi and charging ports in the vehicles?

Free Wi-Fi on board all vehicles—sufficient bandwidth for streaming, Zoom/Teams video conferencing, and web browsing. Ideal for business travelers who want to work on the go. USB-A and USB-C chargers in all vehicles (Mercedes sedans and vans: faster USB-C). Compatible with iPhone, Android, and tablets. A complimentary bottle of water is provided on board for trips longer than 30 minutes. Individually adjustable air conditioning in the front and back (Eco Van, Mercedes Van). Music can be adjusted to your preferences—some customers prefer silence to work or rest. The driver adapts to your pace and won’t strike up a conversation if you don’t want one.

Driver

Who are the drivers, and how do you ensure quality?

Do the drivers speak English?

Yes—all our drivers (including the founder) have a sufficient grasp of English to communicate with clients from the UK, US, Ireland, Australia, and Canada regarding addresses, schedules, instructions, and landmarks. It’s not interpreter-level bilingualism, but it’s enough to ensure a smooth ride—“where are we going, what time, which luggage, which hotel, which terminal.” Reservations via email or WhatsApp can be made in French or English—we’ll reply to your email in your preferred language. This is especially useful for transfers from Bordeaux-Mérignac, wine tours in the Médoc or Saint-Émilion, and business trips with international clients. This linguistic flexibility is standard; it’s never a premium option billed separately.

How do you ensure punctuality?

Punctuality is our top priority. Here’s how we ensure it: real-time tracking of your flight (Flightradar24) or train (SNCF Connect)—the driver automatically adjusts their arrival time in case of delays or early arrivals; you don’t have to do a thing. Early departure with a built-in safety margin based on real-time traffic conditions along the route (A630 bypass, airport access, crossing Bordeaux). 30 minutes before your pickup time: an automatic text message saying “Your driver is on the way” with a link to live GPS tracking. In-depth local knowledge of Bordeaux’s main routes, recurring construction zones, and alternative routes in case of traffic jams. A Google rating of 5.0/5 based on 25 reviews reflects this attention to detail.

Who are the drivers?

VTC Bordeaux is an agency founded by Adrien Moreno in 2022, organized as the commercial entity VTC Bordeaux SAS since April 2024 (Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register 924 992 605, headquarters at 9 Quai des Mouettes in Parempuyre). The service is now operated by a network of partner drivers selected by Adrien—not a list of anonymous service providers: drivers he knows, with whom he has driven, and whom he calls when he knows the trip will suit them. Some are better suited for long distances, others for wine-tasting tours. All hold a valid professional EVTC license issued by the Prefecture, along with Pacifica professional liability insurance (Crédit Agricole). Adrien’s EVTC license: #03322012101, issued by the Gironde Prefecture in 2022.

What’s the difference between a private hire vehicle and a taxi in Bordeaux?

Both are regulated services but operate differently. A taxi can be hailed on the street or picked up at a taxi stand; its fare is calculated by a meter regulated by the Prefecture (~€2/km during the day, ~€3/km at night, plus a €15 pickup fee). A private hire car (private driver) must be booked in advance—this is a legal requirement; its fare is set freely by the operator and communicated before the ride. With VTC Bordeaux: a fixed fare confirmed in writing, so you know exactly what you’re paying before you get in. No hidden night/weekend/holiday surcharges, no dynamic pricing (surge pricing) like on ride-hailing platforms. Savings: 8–12% compared to daytime taxis, 30–40% compared to nighttime/weekend taxis.

How do I check the validity of an EVTC card?

Free online service at entreprendre.service-public.gouv.fr (under “Check private driver Cards”). Enter the number for immediate confirmation of validity. Adrien Moreno’s EVTC card #03322012101 was issued by the Gironde Prefecture in 2022 and is valid for 5 years. Obtaining this card requires passing a written exam (regulations, road safety, English), a practical driving test, and a mandatory medical examination. Without this card, providing paid private-hire transportation is illegal in France. All VTC Bordeaux partner drivers hold a valid EVTC license. Pacifica professional liability insurance is required to operate.

Services include: transportation for the bride and groom between the ceremony venue and the reception hall (Mercedes sedan or van—optional vehicle decoration, which requires the vehicle and driver to be on-site before and during the event: to be included in the quote), shuttle service for guests from Bordeaux hotels to the estate or château where the reception is held (useful for international guests), and airport transfers for guests arriving from abroad. For wine châteaux in the Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Sauternes regions: please contact us at least 2–3 months before the date to reserve available partner drivers. Customized quotes based on duration of service, number of vehicles, distances, and decoration. Contact: contact@vtc-bordeaux-chauffeur.fr.

Can I book a private chauffeur for an evening event or nighttime gathering?

Yes—service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This is particularly useful for evenings when you don’t want to drive (for safety reasons, due to alcohol consumption, or fatigue). Common scenarios: a night out on the town (pickup from home/hotel → restaurant/club → flexible return at the end of the night); professional events (gala dinners, seminar evenings, award ceremonies—the driver waits on-site or returns at the agreed-upon time); concerts and shows (Grand Théâtre, Arkéa Arena, Zénith de Bordeaux—round-trip transfer with no parking stress). Nighttime rate (7 p.m.–6 a.m.) included in the quote provided at the time of booking, fixed and disclosed in advance—no surprises at the end of the evening.

Do you offer a dedicated service for businesses and seminars?

Corporate services: airport/train station transfers for employees and clients on business trips; full-day chauffeur services for executives with busy schedules; transportation for foreign delegations (English-speaking drivers, meet-and-greet service starting at Mérignac); shuttles for seminars and events (châteaux in the Médoc, Arcachon, Sauternes). Corporate accounts with monthly billing available under certain conditions (minimum of 20 trips per month) — VAT recoverable FR81 924 992 605, detailed invoices by trip and by recipient, integration of cost center codes and purchase orders. Annual framework quotes for recurring needs. SIREN 924 992 605. Contact contact@vtc-bordeaux-chauffeur.fr.
