Private driver, TGV, plane, carpooling

Bordeaux–Paris: private chauffeur, TGV, plane or carpool?

Between Bordeaux and Paris, the TGV saves time and money for a solo traveller: 2 hours 4 minutes at the fastest, compared to 5 hours 33 minutes by road, for a ticket price that is in a different league to a chauffeur-driven car package. No sales pitch can change this fact, and we prefer to state it clearly. As for the plane, it no longer serves Paris-Orly: the route is prohibited by the decree of 22 May 2023, which has been extended for the 2026 summer season; that leaves Bordeaux-Mérignac – Roissy-CDG, including check-in, security checks and two terminal transfers. Carpooling offers the lowest fare but imposes a fixed timetable, a meeting point and a limited luggage allowance. Taxis are metered: over 594 km, the total fare is only known on arrival. A long-distance private driver does not beat the train on speed; it comes out on top as soon as door-to-door service, the number of passengers, luggage allowance or timetable become the key considerations.

Taxi from Bordeaux to Paris: a private driver, the fixed-price alternative

Looking for a taxi from Bordeaux to Paris? A private chauffeur service is the fixed-price alternative: your fare is agreed in writing before departure, whereas a 594 km taxi journey is only settled on arrival, based on the meter reading. We’re not a taxi service: we’re the alternative, with the same vehicle arriving at your door and handling the same luggage, but with a price known in advance. A Bordeaux–Paris taxi journey is, of course, still an option; the estimate below is simply intended as a market guide.

Indicative estimate: €2/km during the day, €3/km at night, plus a €15 pick-up charge. To be confirmed with the service provider depending on the address, time of day, waiting time and any applicable surcharges.

Itinerary

A typical Bordeaux to Paris journey, hour by hour

A journey from Bordeaux to Paris with a private chauffeur takes place in four stages: collection from your address at the agreed time, travelling on the A10 with regular breaks, arrival and drop-off at the exact address requested in Paris, then either remaining on standby at the destination or a return journey organised separately. The driver loads your luggage, pays the tolls and monitors the traffic; you don’t have to worry about a thing. Over a distance of 594 km, stops are essential: allow for a break roughly every two hours at a motorway service area to stretch your legs, have a coffee, change a baby or walk the dog. This time is already included in the quoted 5 hours 33 minutes and is never charged as an extra. On arrival, you’ll be dropped off right outside your hotel, home, office, Montparnasse station or an airport terminal, without having to look for a parking space.

01

Pick-up at the following addresses

Home, hotel, office, Saint-Jean station or Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. The driver arrives early, loads your luggage and confirms the drop-off address before setting off. Departure at the time you have specified, including before dawn.

02

The A10, with regular breaks

Ring road, then the A10 motorway towards Saintes, Poitiers, Tours and Orléans. A break approximately every two hours at a service area. Wi-Fi, USB chargers, complimentary water, and a child seat if requested at the time of booking.

03

Arrival and precise drop-off

Enter Paris from the south, then drop-off at the agreed address: hotel, flat, head office, Montparnasse station or terminal. Luggage is unloaded and left at your door, with no need for you to carry it or search for a parking space.

04

On-site, or separate return journey

The driver can remain on standby in Paris at the hourly rate for the category (55 €/h in Eco). A same-day return journey is a single flat-rate package, starting from 1834 € in Eco; a return journey on a different date must be booked separately, with its own written quote.

You set the pace: a longer lunch break, an extra stop for a child or a pet, or a departure delayed by an hour. Just let the driver know, and the itinerary will be adjusted. Traffic conditions as you approach the Île-de-France region may extend the journey time: the price, however, remains the same.

One-way, return or bespoke trip

A 594 km journey can be tailored to your needs: a simple door-to-door one-way trip, a same-day return journey for an appointment or to sort out paperwork, or a trip lasting several days with the driver at your disposal. You choose the package; the price is fixed and quoted in advance.

You will be dropped off at the address you specify, within central Paris or in the inner or outer suburbs: a hotel, a company headquarters, a trade fair in Villepinte, or a terminal at Roissy-CDG or Orly. For the Marne-la-Vallée area, see our dedicated page: Bordeaux → Disneyland Paris. Return journey: outbound + return Bordeaux ↔ Paris within the same day, fixed price guaranteed in writing. No commission

Book directly, in French or English

Why book directly rather than through a platform?

On a 594 km journey, a platform’s commission runs into tens of euros, and you won’t know who’s driving until the day itself. When you book directly, you’ll receive a written, personalised quote, the name and number of the driver who’ll be making the journey, and a single point of contact should your schedule change. A long-distance private transfer requires planning: pick-up address, drop-off address, number of passengers, amount of luggage, any pets, and child seats. Everything is listed on the confirmation.

When should you book, and is a deposit required?

For a journey from Bordeaux to Paris, ideally book 3 to 7 days in advance: the vehicle and driver are booked out for a whole day. During periods of announced strikes or at the start of the holiday season, book even further in advance. A deposit may be required for long-distance journeys; this is specified in the quote and is never added retrospectively. Cancellation is free of charge up to 12 hours before departure.

01

Describe your journey

Enter the exact addresses, date, time, number of passengers and luggage in the form at the top of the page — or contact us directly via WhatsApp, 24 hours a day, in either French or English.

02

03

On the day, door-to-door

Customer reviews

They chose a private chauffeur to travel to Paris

★★★★★

“There were five of us with two large suitcases, a pushchair and the dog. We left home at 6 am and were dropped off in front of the building in Paris in the early afternoon. The price quoted a fortnight beforehand was exactly what we paid.”

Sandrine L. · Mérignac
★★★★★

“I had three meetings in Paris on the same day, and no train fitted in with my schedule. I was able to work and make my calls throughout the journey, in complete privacy. I received the invoice that very evening and was able to finalise my expense claim straight away.”

Thomas G. · Bordeaux
★★★★★

“My cello doesn’t travel on a packed TGV. The van took it without any fuss, strapped it down at the back, and dropped me off right outside the concert hall. Two stops along the way, and the driver was impeccable.”

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: private transfer Bordeaux–Paris

Is a private driver cheaper than a taxi from Bordeaux to Paris?

A private driver works from a flat rate agreed in writing: from 921 € in the Eco category for a one-way daytime journey, including tolls. A taxi charges by the meter, and the total fare is only known on arrival. We are not a taxi service but the private-driver alternative, with a price locked in before departure. The taxi estimate shown above is for guidance only and must be confirmed with the service provider.

Is it better to take the train or a private chauffeur for the journey from Bordeaux to Paris?

Honestly, the train. For a single traveller in a hurry, the TGV takes 2 hours 04 minutes at its fastest and costs significantly less than a 921 € flat-rate fare. A private chauffeur has the edge in specific situations: groups or families of up to 7 people; oversized luggage or musical instruments; pets; passengers with reduced mobility or who feel anxious on trains; times not covered by the SNCF; strikes or cancellations; or confidential business travel.

How long does the journey from Bordeaux to Paris take?

594 km and approximately 5 hours 33 minutes via the A10 motorway, including breaks. The driver allows extra time to allow for an appointment, a flight or a train in Paris. An early morning or evening departure avoids congestion at the entrance to the Île-de-France region; in the event of traffic delays, the journey time may be longer, but the price remains as quoted.

Can I travel with a pet?

Yes. Dogs, cats or exotic pets can travel with you, in a carrier or secured with a harness depending on their size, with the pet option at 15 €. Please let us know when booking so that the vehicle can be prepared, and bring a blanket. Stops along the journey are also a chance to let your pet out. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are accepted at no extra charge.

What happens in the event of an SNCF strike?

This is one of the most common reasons people call us. Whether it’s a strike that’s been announced, a TGV service cancelled the day before, or a train cancelled on the morning itself: your journey by chauffeur-driven car isn’t dependent on any public transport timetable. We’ll confirm your booking within 30 minutes, subject to vehicle availability. During strikes, demand is high: book as soon as the strike notice is announced rather than on the day itself.

Does the driver take breaks?

Yes, and it’s essential over a 594 km journey. Allow for a break roughly every two hours at a service area on the A10: coffee, toilet breaks, a stretch of the legs, a feed for the baby or a walk for the dog. These stops are included in the advertised journey time of 5 hours 33 minutes and are never charged extra. If you’d like a proper lunch break, just let us know: we’ll adjust the itinerary accordingly.

How many passengers and how much luggage?

Up to 3 passengers in the Economy car (Toyota Yaris Hybrid) or saloon (Mercedes C-Class), and 4 to 7 passengers in the Economy minivan (Peugeot Traveller) or Mercedes minivan, with a full boot for suitcases. Oversized items — musical instruments, professional equipment, removal boxes, sports equipment — are transported in a van: please describe them when requesting a quote so that we can ensure the vehicle is suitably sized.

Can we set off at night or very early in the morning?

Yes, bookings are available 24 hours a day and you can set off at the time of your choosing, even at 3 am or on a public holiday — when there are no trains running. The night-time rate applies between 7 pm and 6 am: from 995 € in the Eco category when departing from Bordeaux city centre. This is shown on the quote before you book.

Does the price change depending on traffic conditions?

No. The fixed price is agreed in writing before the journey: traffic jams on the ring road, roadworks on the A10, slow-moving traffic on the approach to the Île-de-France region or a mandatory diversion do not affect the price. There is no meter, no dynamic pricing and no kilometre surcharge. Only a change of address, an additional passenger or an option added after the quote has been issued will result in a new price, which will be communicated to you before confirmation.

How does payment work?

There are two options: online payment via a secure link (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or payment on board, by credit card or in cash. For long-distance journeys, a deposit may be required at the time of booking; this will then be shown on the quote. The invoice is sent by email, in French or English, and can be used for expense claims.

Can I cancel?

Yes, cancellation is free of charge up to 12 hours before the pick-up time. After this deadline, as the vehicle and driver are tied up for a whole day, charges may apply; these are indicated in the quote. A simple change to the time or date can be arranged via WhatsApp, free of charge, provided the vehicle remains available.

Do you serve CDG and Orly airports?

Yes, we drop you off at the terminal of your choice at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle or Paris-Orly, with your luggage left outside the entrance. The journey can also start from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport, with flight tracking: from 936 € in the Eco category. Please let us know your flight number so that the pick-up time can be adjusted in the event of a delay.

Can we make a stop along the way?

Yes. A stop in Poitiers, Tours, Orléans or Blois, a visit to a business address, or picking up a passenger en route: any additional stop is possible. Please specify this when requesting a quote, as it affects the distance and journey time, and therefore the price. The revised price will be communicated to you before confirmation, always in writing and before departure.

Do you cater for people with reduced mobility?

Yes, within the limits of a standard passenger car: the driver will assist with transferring the passenger from a folding wheelchair, which is stored in the boot, and the van has a comfortable ground clearance. We do not have vehicles with ramps or medical transport facilities. Please describe the situation in detail when booking: we will let you know frankly whether our service is suitable.

Do you offer the return journey from Paris to Bordeaux?

Yes, in both cases. The same-day return journey is a single flat-rate package, quoted as a single amount and agreed in writing before departure. A return journey on a different date must be booked and invoiced separately, with its own written quote; the fare will then depend on the timetable and the service category chosen. Booking both legs in a single request allows you to secure the same driver and simplifies the arrangements.
